 What's Counselling for?

Does life feel like its getting on top of you?

Could you benefit from a place to take some time-out?
... to explore your thoughts and feelings

Counselling provides an opportunity to talk to someone on a one to one basis. Its safe to offload and its my job to help you understand yourself better.

Counselling can help with many problems and this may include:

  • depression

  • anxiety

  • stress

  • relationships & family

  • work / redundancy / retirement

  • when somebody has died

  • low self esteem

  • eating issues

  • and life in general.

Personal Approach:

There are many different approaches to counselling and its not essential to understand all the terminology. What matters is whether it feels right for you.

For those interested in the detail my model is called integrative because I bring together 3 different approaches to create my own way of working. These are:

  • - humanistic values which means creating a trusting relationship with warmth to allow someone to feel safe enough to explore their own self.

  • - looking at the past and its relevance to the present time. This is called the psycho-dynamic approach

  • - these are overlaid by the transpersonal which is about connection in an unconscious, perhaps soulful, way.
